چکیده
Pre extension demonstration of food barley varieties was carried out during 2010/11 and 2011/12 E.C cropping season with the objective evaluating best performed preferred under farmer’s management condition. The trial selecting one kebele from each Anfilo, Hawa Gelan Boji Dirmaji districts two kebeles Seyo district. Three improved (dinsho, abdane biftu) a local check were evaluated full participation FRG members their fit variety selected participants. total five (5) FRGs which incorporated 59 male 23 female established. Each experimental plot had gross area 100 m2 rows spacing 25 cm used. All recommended agronomic practices equally applied to all plots. Yield collected analyzed using descriptive statistics. Accordingly yield performances 28.66 qt/ha, 26.02 23.96 qt/ha 21.15 for Dinsho, Abdane, Biftu respectively. Accordingly, advantage dinsho over is 35.5% while 23.02% biftu 13.28%. Farmers enhanced evaluate technology own criteria. they as first choice by its grain yield, disease resistance, finger size secondly merits early maturity, lodging tolerance thirdly fourthly Generally based on preference objectively measured trait should be scaled up/out in Sayo, Galan, Anfilo Bodji similar agro ecology West Kellam wollega zones.

Lysine Catabolism in Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.).
Lysine catabolism in seedlings of barley (Hordeum vulgare L. var. Emir) was studied by direct injection of the following tracers into the endosperm of the seedlings: aspartic acid-3-(14)C, 2-aminoadipic acid-1-(14)C, saccharopine-(14)C, 2,6-diaminopimelic acid-1-(7)-(14)C, and lysine-1-(14)C. Labeled saccharopine was formed only after the administration of either labeled 2,6-diaminopimelic acid...

In order to evaluation of drought resistant indices in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), 10 barley genotypes evaluated in Completely Randomized Design with three Replications in two conditions, (under drought stress and in normal with irrigation in planting, flowering and grain filling stages) in Islamic Azad University, Miyaneh Branch Research Farm in 2012. متن کاملAllelopathic Plants. 19. Barley (Hordeum vulgare L)
Barley is integrated with other crops to inhibit weed growth, through allelopathic interactions. Effects of barley on growth of other crops, weeds and autotoxicity among cultivars result primarily from allelopathy mediated by allelochemicals released from plant components and/or exuded from living roots. A limited number of allelochemicals are identified that contributes to allelopathic effecti...
متن کاملEffects of salt and heat pre-treatment factors on efficient regeneration in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)
An efficient callus induction and plant regeneration system has been developed using salt and heat as pre-treatment factors for three barley genotypes viz. BB-3, BB-6 and BHL-18. Different concentrations of NaCl (1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, 5.5 and 6.5 g/L) were used and its effects were determined on the basis of the viability of callus (CV), plant regeneration (PR), relative growth rate (RGR) and tol...
متن کاملIdentification of a Phytase Gene in Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)
BACKGROUND Endogenous phytase plays a crucial role in phytate degradation and is thus closely related to nutrient efficiency in barley products. The understanding of genetic information of phytase in barley can provide a useful tool for breeding new barley varieties with high phytase activity. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS Quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis for phytase activity was condu...
